Responsibility

Let’s talk about responsibility.

The path to meaning in life is personal responsibility for ourselves, warts and all.

This does not mean taking on the burden of responsibility for others’ actions. This means owning our emotions and perspective as we experience the world. Even when others do something to us.

We do not take responsibility for the actions of others, if we do then we become the scapegoat.

We do not put the responsibility of our emotions on others, if we do then we become the eternal victim.

Victims have no power.

We take our power back by accepting the responsibility of our own emotions, we have them and they are ours. It does not matter what inspired them, good or ill, they are ours.

This is how we move mountains; this is how we find meaning and belonging. We must first belong to ourselves.

what is mem?

MEM or the Mace Energy Method, is a therapeutic technique that assists a person in leveling their emotional state by processing emotions which cause negative impacts in daily lives.

Once emotional responses are level and balanced, a person can then address their personal issues without further triggering of yet more emotions.

Once emotional responses are level, then other work within self is more effective. PERIOD.

Conscientiousness

Conscientiousness is a personality trait that displays how well a person can relate to others and also to situations. The higher your conscientiousness, the more likely you are to be aware of others around you and how your actions impact them.

When a person is emotionally stimulated and focused on their own state of emotion their ability to be conscientiousness suffers.

When a person cannot be conscientiousness or will not, their relationships suffer, and their unknown scripts take over their experience causing more pain and suffering.

In order to stop the cycle you must regulate your emotional state, MEM can help.

sweet dreams

Have you ever heard a song and really listened to the words with the music and felt a knowing?

The Eurythmics produced a song with this refrain,

“Some of them want to use you
Some of them want to get used by you
Some of them want to abuse you
Some of them want to be abused”

Which one are you? If we are being honest, all of us have had one of these mindsets or all of them over our time here in the dream.

Emotional blockages cause us to develop these kinds of scripts, releasing the emotional blockage provides a person with the opportunity to resolve the dichotomy of the slave/tyrant relationship.

MEM is a wonderful tool for this end.

make me a channel of your peace.

Peace is an action and a state of being. Our intentions are actions and states of being. Therefore, if you are interested in peace in your life and calm, you must address the emotions that are fueling your intentions and state of mind.

Those attitudes and intentions that are not conscious to you are running scripts, and determining whether you perceive peace or strife in the world. Anxiety, depression, and agitation are not calm, and they are not a state that you must suffer for “reasons.” They can be addressed; they can be resolved. You are the one you have been looking for.

fear and loathing…

Anxiety is the fear of the future.

Depression is the fear of the past.

Anxiety and depression arise when a person is in emotional pain.

Pain is caused when our expectations do not meet our experiences. Pain that is not responded too does not go away. It is suppressed through denial and other self-defenses; it does not go away.

Pain that we react to becomes a pocket of negative energy that informs our subconscious and turns into a script we run in the background. We create this script without conscious awareness and give it energy and motion so that it can proceed to act in our life and we call it fate or luck. We feel helpless. Scripts are stuck emotions.

Once we understand and are conscious of one of our scripts (generated from an emotional reaction), MEM assists us in putting that emotion back in motion and sending it along out of your experience. Once we are conscious of our expectations the same experiences no longer trigger us and we can respond to emotion rather than react.

When this happens, we release fear, when we release fear, we release anxiety and depression. Fear and loathing can be transmuted into peace and joy.

pretending…

The basic human equation of psychology is this; our beliefs work upon our attitudes which then get reflected in our behaviors.

The problem is that many of us do not even realize what we believe, that is why we think that life contains luck, and or fate.

Our beliefs create the scripts that we act out daily, and many times our beliefs were created or decided upon in a moment of upset where we were emotionally overwhelmed and made a choice towards survival.

Then as we move forward from that moment, we pretend it did not happen, and we ignore what we have chosen to believe. However, that belief is reflected every day in our attitudes and then our actions, and this is the creation of the scripts that we run in our lives.

We pretend we do not know why things we do not like happen to us, but we know. There is an itch, it could be deep in our gut, or in the back of our mind, or in our heart. This itch whispers to us to remember the choice.

The itch asks us to respond to the events in our lives instead of react to them. When we respond, we are consciously writing our script, rather than letting it happen in unawareness.

MEM is a method that assists a person to acknowledge and listen to their own itch.

When we do that, we stop pretending, and then we make our unconscious, conscious, no longer tossed in the storms of fate or luck.

Awaken

Psyche means spirit or breath, and with every breathe you take you are moving the energy of your spirit. As you breathe you change.

Our emotions are energy in motion. They rise and fall like waves on a beach, and like the waves they only last for mere moments. They persist when we put our focus and attention on them.

The model psychology uses in the western world today has forgotten these simple truths, and so compartmentalizes and separates thoughts, feelings, and actions.

It is a dream to believe separation is the truth. The reality is that each living being is an embodiment of consciousness, a combination of thoughts, feelings, and actions or behaviors.

Re-member humanity by remembering who you are, bring the unconscious to consciousness, as Carl Jung said, “Until you make the unconscious, conscious it will direct your life, and you will call it fate.” Carl Jung
